Lahore: The Punjab government has announced the establishment of seven more national parks for the effective protection and promotion of wildlife in the province.
According to the announcement issued in this regard, the Secretary Forests, Wildlife Punjab has immediately canceled the notification for the establishment of ten wildlife sanctuaries announced under Section 9 of the Protected Area Act 2020.
According to the declaration, under section (1) 7 of the said Act, the same ten sanctuaries including Lal Sahanra, Pabi and Rasool Reserve Forest, Khairimurt Reserve Forest, Chinji Reserve Forest, Kala Chatta Reserve Forest, Murree, Kahota and Kotli Satian Reserve Forest. and Salt Range (Sembly North Reserve Forest, Noorpur Reserve Forest, Mallot Reserve Forest, Dalwal Reserve Forest) have been declared to be National Parks.
It should be noted that under the Punjab Protected Areas Act 2020, hunting, shooting at any wild animal in the National Park or doing any other act that frightens any wild animal or interferes with their breeding places or habitat. May cause is prohibited.
Further under this Act felling, cutting, burning or in any way damaging, destroying, carrying, collecting or uprooting any plant or tree or their leaves, fruits or seeds, cultivating, mining and Activities such as breaking and clearing land for any other purpose, and polluting water flowing through the National Park are also prohibited.
