Italy lifted the embargo on arms sales to Saudi Arabia, the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting.
Italy imposed a ban on military equipment exports to Saudi Arabia in 2019 and 2020 so that these weapons could not be used in the Yemen conflict.
The Italian government said in its statement that this ban is no longer necessary in the light of the current situation.
The government also appreciated the recent peace and mediation efforts by Saudi Arabia.
