In the Junior Asia Cup, Pakistan defeated Japan and made it to the semi-finals. By reaching the semi-finals, Pakistan also qualified for the Junior World Cup.
In the last group match, Pakistan defeated Japan 2-3. On behalf of Pakistan, Abdul Wahab scored two goals and Arbaaz Ahmed scored one goal.
Japan took the lead in the second minute through Kompi Yoshida on a penalty corner. Pakistan’s Arbaaz equalized the match by scoring on a penalty corner in the 23rd minute.
In the 30th minute of the match, Abdul Wahab scored a field goal to give Pakistan the lead, then in the 38th minute, Japan’s Hota Yamada equalized the match.
A minute later, Abdul Wahab scored his second goal and Pakistan’s third to give the team the lead again, which remained until the end of the match.
In the semi-final, Pakistan will face Malaysia on May 31.
