Car imports down 78% on year-on-year basis

Islamabad: In the first 10 months of the current financial year, car imports recorded a decline of 78 percent on annual basis.

According to the data, $57 million worth of foreign exchange was spent on imports of cars (completely manufactured units) during the period from July to April, which is 78 percent less than the same period of the previous fiscal year.

On the other hand, during the first 10 months of this fiscal year, textile exports reached 13,709.287 million dollars, which is 14.22% less than the exports of the same period last year (15,981.736 million dollars).

Additionally, imports of textile machinery recorded a 55% decline on annual basis in the first 10 months of the current financial year.
