The first case of polio was reported in Afghanistan this year.
According to the National Institute of Health, Islamabad, a 4-year-old child was disabled by polio in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province.
The NIH has said that 1 to 2 cases of wild poliovirus have been reported in the world this year.
The National Institute of Health says that this year also in Pakistan, one child has become disabled due to polio virus.
According to NIH, polio virus has been confirmed in environmental samples from Peshawar, Hangu and South Waziristan.
