Elon Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday that your Twitter handle will soon have audio and video chat so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving out your phone number.
With the introduction of the call feature on Twitter, the micro-blogging platform will become similar to Meta’s social media apps Facebook and Instagram.
Elon Musk said a version of encrypted direct messages would be available on Twitter starting Wednesday, but did not say whether calls would also be encrypted.
It should be noted that recently Twitter has announced the decision to start the process of deleting accounts that have been inactive for several years.
