In view of the fear of spread of monkeypox virus in the country, it has been decided to screen the suspected patients coming from abroad, in this regard, instructions have been issued to the airports.
The federal health department has instructed the relevant departments at the airports to implement the guidelines.
The directive states that the suspected patient on the plane should be identified. Suspect patient should be evacuated by ambulance instead of routine departure.
According to the guidelines, the immigration of the affected patient will be done by the airline staff. The patient’s travel documents should be brought sealed in a regular envelope. While in view of the risk of virus, the protocol service at the airports should be stopped immediately.
The directive further said that the health department personnel should spray disinfectant on passengers’ belongings. Health department personnel must use protective PPE kits. Every passenger coming from Umrah should be checked.
