The Kenyan government has again refused further cooperation in the investigation into the murder case of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
Officials of Pakistan and Kenya have confirmed to Geo News about the non-cooperation.
Pakistan had written to Kenya asking permission for a new investigation, on which the Kenyan authorities say that they cannot allow further investigation in the Arshad Sharif case.
Kenyan authorities have rejected Pakistan’s request more than 5 times.
Canyon officials say that Umar Shahid Hamid and Athar Waheed had fully cooperated in the investigation.
Sources say that the local institutions are very angry with the criticism of the Kenyan authorities in the report of the Pakistani investigators, while the investigation report of the Kenyan government on the Arshad Sharif murder case has not been published so far.
It should be noted that in the Arshad Sharif murder case, the Supreme Court took notice and ordered a new investigation.
On the other hand, the Kenyan authorities maintain that Arshad Sharif has already provided necessary cooperation in the murder case.
Officials say that the Supreme Court order is an internal matter of Pakistan.
