Karachi: A parking mafia operative who threatened a citizen near the city court was arrested by the police and registered a case.
According to Eskpress News, parking mafia operatives tried to forcibly collect illegal parking fee from the citizen on Ali Mohammad Dina Road near Linda Bazar in the limits of Risala police station and threatened to take away the citizen’s car if he refused to pay the excess amount.
The citizen made a video of the incident from his mobile phone and made it viral, on which the police found the said person and arrested him and registered a case in the complaint of the traffic police. The accused has been identified as Inayat.
It should be noted that despite the court orders declaring parking fee collection illegal, parking mafia continues to collect arbitrary amount from ordinary citizens in most places of the city.
In all major markets of the city, including Zainab Market, Saddar Ko Operative Market, Techno City, Bahadurabad, Tariq Road, Millennium Mall and other places, parking mafia operatives are busy collecting parking fees from the citizens without any deterrent.
