The director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) says that the staff-level agreement will be signed soon, after which the board will approve it.
In his statement, the IMF director said that it is hoped that Pakistan will continue to make progress on reforms in various sectors.
The IMF said that it is hoped that Pakistan will complete the IMF program on time.
The IMF Director further said that the IMF will play its positive role in bringing economic stability to Pakistan.
It may be noted that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar participated in the IMF and World Bank meetings on video link, in which the IMF was apprised of the completion of the preliminary steps.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the IMF team was led by the Director Middle East and Central Asia, and the meeting discussed the progress in the ongoing program of the IMF.
