A video of a knife attack on the imam of a mosque in the city of Paterson, New Jersey, USA, has emerged.
It can be seen in the video that the attacker was in the third row of prayer and waited for other worshipers to go into prostration before attacking.
The assailant jumped over the worshipers while they were prostrating and attacked the Imam Masjid and tried to escape from there.
New Jersey police have yet to determine the cause of the attack that occurred on Sunday.
A case of attempted murder has been registered against the attacker, 32-year-old Sarif Zorba.
The imam of the Umar mosque in Paterson was attacked during the Fajr prayer.
It is said that the attacker stabbed the imam several times, the worshipers saved the imam’s life.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Paterson has announced the deployment of police outside the mosque after this incident.
