Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has given up politics.
Jacinda Ardern said during her final address to Parliament in Wellington that the responsibilities of motherhood did not hinder a political career or leading the public.
“I bid farewell to my political career today with the assurance that I have tried to be the best mother possible throughout my career,” she said.
In her final address to Parliament, she urged women not to let motherhood get in the way of their leadership visions and urged world leaders to keep politics away from the issue of climate change.
