Ottawa: US President Joe Biden has warned Iran that it will ‘use force’ to protect US citizens following a recent airstrike on ‘Iranian-backed forces’ in Syria.
The US President’s statement has come at a time when there was a clash between US forces and Iranian ‘support forces’ in Syria yesterday and an American official was injured.
“America does not want a conflict with Iran, but be prepared to use force to protect our people,” Biden told reporters during a visit to Canada.
In response to a question, US President Joe Biden replied, “We are not going to stop.” The Pentagon said on Thursday that US F-15 jets attacked two facilities used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the war in Syria, has said that 8 pro-Iranian fighters have been killed in US strikes, while the foreign news agency Reuters was unable to independently confirm the casualties.
