Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan contacted lawyer Babar Awan on the issue of Section 144 imposed by the Punjab government in Lahore.
Imran Khan instructed Babar Awan to challenge Section 144 in the Election Commission after which Babar Awan prepared a petition.
In the request of Tehreek-e-Insaf, it has been said that the Election Commission should end the implementation of Section 144.
In the petition, the position has been adopted that the imposition of Section 144 on the Tehreek-e-Insaaf rally in Lahore is illegal, the Punjab government is trying to stop the rally by justifying the PSL match.
PTI has said in its application that the route of Tehreek-e-Insaf rally and PSL match is different, the rally will end at 5:30 pm while the PSL match will start at 7 pm.
In the petition of Tehreek-e-Insaf, it has been said that the Punjab government is violating Para 15 of the Supreme Court judgment by implementing Section 144.
The PTI has further stated in its petition that Section 144 has not been imposed during PSL in any city before.
In the petition, this position has also been adopted that the election campaign is the constitutional right of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, the Punjab government is illegally stopping the election campaign.
