Oman has announced to open its airspace for all international airlines, Israeli passenger planes will also be able to pass through.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Oman has announced the opening of airspace for all airlines that meet the required conditions.

The authority said in a statement on Twitter that the Sultanate of Oman, following the Chicago Convention of 1944, declares that the country’s airspace will be opened to all airlines that meet the authority’s conditions.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen thanked his Omani counterpart Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

After the decision, Israeli airlines will also be able to use Oman’s airspace for Asia, which will shorten their air travel.

Ahlai Cohen said that this is an important and historic decision for Israel’s economy and Israeli travelers.
