University of Karachi;  Clash of student organizations on first day of session, ban on all activities

Karachi: The University of Karachi administration has banned the activities of student organizations after a bloody clash between two student organizations in the university campus.

According to the details, this clash took place on the first day of the session 2024 in the afternoon, which caused fear and panic among the newly admitted students in the university, while two students were seriously injured in the clash, after which the university administration As an immediate action, a ban was imposed on the activities of all student organizations active in the campus.

According to the notification, this ban has been imposed until further notice, the notification has been issued by the university’s student advisor, Dr. Nosheen Raza. The notification issued said that the activities of student groups affiliated to political parties will be banned for the time being and this move has been done with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.

A copy of the notification has also been sent to all departmental chairmen, directors of institutes, deans and wing commanders of 62 Wing. It was the first day of session 2024 in University of Karachi. On this occasion, 6,000 students have been admitted in different morning programs, while the admissions of evening programs are still going on.

On this occasion, a grand ceremony was also held in Karachi University as an orientation day in the morning in honor of Navardan University, after which the students went to their respective departments for departmental introduction ceremonies, while in the afternoon Students of evening program also came to the university.

Meanwhile, members of a student organization entered the Mehmood Hussain Library and attacked some members of another student organization already present there with sticks and rods, which made the situation tense and chaos spread throughout the campus.

According to University of Karachi Campus Security Advisor Professor Salman, two students in the library were seriously injured on this occasion, while some students tried to save their lives by hiding in the administrative block, on which members of a student organization attacked the administrative building with sticks and sticks. I entered but failed to find the other students.”

It should be noted that on this occasion, the mobile of the concerned police station reached the university with only three personnel, but due to lack of manpower, they failed to control any of the student organizations. While talking to “Express”, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Iraqi said that we want to provide quality education to our students in a peaceful environment, but if someone disturbs the peace and order in the campus, we will surely kill thousands of students. Steps will be taken to provide a peaceful environment.
