South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs in the first Test match.

The lions of the house once again piled out. The pool of the Indian team, which gave a disastrous performance during the World Cup played on its soil, was opened in South Africa.

In the first Test match of the series played at Centurion, South Africa did not allow India a single run and suffered an innings defeat.

The Indian team was all out by scoring 245 runs in the first innings. Meanwhile, KL Rahul played an innings of 101 runs. Virat Kohli scored 38 runs and Shreyas Iyer scored 31 runs.

On behalf of South Africa, Kagiso Rabada guided 5 players to the pavilion. Nandre Berger dismissed 3 players while Marco Janssen and Gerald Coetzee got one wicket each.

South Africa lost the match to India in their first innings. Thanks to Dean Elgar’s 185 and Marko Jansen’s unbeaten 85 runs, they scored 408 runs and took a lead of 163 runs. Captain Temba Bavuma did not bat in this innings.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah dismissed 4 while Mohammad Siraj dismissed 2 players. Shirdal Thakur, Prasad Krishna and Ravichandran Ashwin took one wicket each.

In the second innings, the Indian batting line was reduced to 131 runs in front of South Africa’s heavy lead. 9 Indian players could not even get into double figures.

Virat Kohli scored 76 and Shubman Gill scored 26 runs. Nandra Berger of South Africa got 4, Marco Jansen got 3 and Kagiso Rabada dismissed 2 players.

South Africa’s Dean Elgar was adjudged the man of the match for his outstanding batting performance.
