Quetta: Manzoor Pashteen, head of the Pashtun Protection Movement, was arrested on the charge of firing on the police in Chaman.
According to the details, Deputy Commissioner Chaman said that the armed men accompanying Manzoor Pashteen opened fire on the vehicles of police and security forces in Chaman, after which Manzoor Pashteen was arrested.
He said that Manzoor Pashteen is being arrested and transferred to Quetta where a case will be registered against him and further legal action will be taken.
On the other hand, the leaders of Pashtun Protection Movement have alleged that the law enforcement agencies fired indiscriminately on the car of Manzoor Pashteen while he was going to Turbat from Chaman.
The PTM leader said that Manzoor Pashteen was going to express solidarity in the ongoing sit-in in Turbat.
The Deputy Commissioner said that after firing on Manzoor Pashteen’s car, Levies and police personnel reached the place of Godamu in Chaman and then chased and fired at the accused’s car and punctured the tire and then arrested him.
The Caretaker Information Minister of Balochistan said that Manzoor Pashteen was coming to participate in the sit-in and give a speech after the permission of the administration. He alleged that PTI is an anti-state organisation.
He said that a case has been registered against Manzoor Pashteen in the police complaint in Chaman, in which it was stated that four people were injured due to firing by the PTM chief’s bodyguards.
