Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Amjad Zubair says that no proposal to levy new taxes is under consideration, taxes are being collected as per the fixed target.
A meeting was held on the country’s economic situation under the chairmanship of caretaker finance minister Shamshad Akhtar, in which chairman FBR along with board members briefed the finance minister.
Sources say that a briefing was given on measures to prevent smuggling, revenue collection in the meeting.
Chairman FBR said that taxation on agriculture is the jurisdiction of provinces, proposal for taxation on shops is not under consideration at present.
