Pakistan cricket team got the opportunity to become the world’s number one ODI team in the series against Afghanistan.
Pakistan is currently ranked second in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings.
A 3-0 victory in the ODI series against Afghanistan will make Pakistan the number one ODI team again.
In the ICC ODI ranking, Pakistan has 116 points while number one team Australia has 118 points. A victory for the Green Shirts against Afghanistan will take their tally to 119 points.
The first ODI match between Pakistan and Afghanistan is to be played tomorrow in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. The second match will be played on August 24 at the same venue and the third on August 26 in Colombo.
