Lahore: In Lahore, a ban was imposed on selling petrol to motorcyclists without helmets.
On the request of the Chief Traffic Officer, the Deputy Commissioner Lahore issued a notification, in which it has been stated that the incidence of head injuries in accidents is increasing due to non-wearing of helmets.
The notification states that motorcyclists must wear a helmet to get petrol, the notification issued under the Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965 has been sent to all concerned authorities.
It should be noted that 3 days ago it was declared mandatory for motorcycle riders to wear helmets across Punjab, on which the DIG Traffic Police Punjab has issued a letter for immediate implementation. Legal action should also be taken against the perpetrators.
