Moscow: Vladimir Putin has thanked the Russian military for crushing the threat of ‘civil war’ after the Wagner group’s 24-hour mutiny.
According to international media reports, while speaking at the Russian Presidential Palace in the Kremlin, Putin thanked the 2,500 members of the army, security forces and National Guard for saving the country from chaos.

He added that Russia’s enemies would have taken advantage of the situation if the coup had succeeded. The Wagner Group was fully funded by the Russian state.
It should be noted that the brief rebellion of the Wagner group was led by its leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, in which Yevgeny blamed the Russian military for the invasion of Ukraine on the basis of little justification.
