Australia defeated England by two wickets in the Birmingham Test after a very interesting and thrilling match. Chasing 281 runs, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon put on an unbeaten partnership of 55 runs for the ninth wicket and gave their team a one-off lead in the Ashes series. Zero lead.
On the last day of the Test in Birmingham, the first session was rained out, in the second session Australia advanced the innings by 107 runs with 3 out in pursuit of 281 runs.
