Confirmation of monkeypox in a passenger arriving in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia


Monkeypox has been confirmed in another passenger who arrived in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

According to Infectious Diseases Experts Pims, a female lab technician who arrived in Islamabad from Makkah today turned out to be a monkey pox patient.

Infectious disease experts of PIMS said that the woman suffering from monkey pox is being treated in the isolation ward of PIMS.

The National Institute of Health NIH Islamabad also confirmed that the 19-year-old woman was suffering from monkeypox.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has so far confirmed monkeypox in 4 people who came to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

According to NIH, monkeypox was confirmed in three persons who came to Islamabad and one person who came to Karachi.

Officials also said that there was no evidence of local spread of monkeypox in Pakistan.
