As votes continue to be counted in Turkey’s presidential and parliamentary elections, state media reports say President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not win more than 50 percent of the vote.

According to media reports, a decision is likely to be made in the second phase of the elections on May 28.

So far 89.0 percent of the votes have been counted, with Erdogan securing 49.94 percent of the votes, while his rival Kamal Qalicdar Awol has secured 44.3 votes.

On the other hand, Kemal Kilicdaroglu and the opposition mayor of Istanbul have claimed superiority in the preliminary results.
