The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the threat of monkeypox has been eliminated.
Briefing the media, WHO Director General Dr. Tedros has said that according to the recommendations of the committee created to monitor monkeypox, monkeypox is no longer a threat at the international level.
He said that a strong, proactive and sustainable response is needed to address the major challenges facing global health.
Dr Tedros says the WHO will continue to work to strengthen the global health system through more information about diseases.
