Iran Athletics Federation President Hashem Seyami Women resigned to athletes being included in races without mandatory headscarves.
Hashim Syami said that women players without headscarves were not part of the national federation.
According to Iran’s state media, women runners took part in the marathon race without headscarves, prompting the resignation of the head of the athletics federation.
Last year, there were protests in Iran over the death in police custody of Mehsa Amini, who was arrested for violating hijab laws.
