Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor died in a road accident

Islamabad: Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor died in a road accident. Prime Minister, President and other political leaders expressed their condolences on his sudden death. The funeral prayer was performed.

According to Islamabad Police, Mufti Abdul Shakoor was heading towards Secretariat Chowk from Marriott. Where the Hilux Revo carrying five men collided with Maulana Abdul Shakoor’s car causing his car to hit the footpath in two overturns.

Maulana Abdul Shakoor was injured and shifted to Polyclinic Hospital where he died during treatment. On the other hand, the spokesperson of the polyclinic has said that Mufti Abdul Shakoor was brought to the hospital in a dead state. At the time of the accident, Mufti Abdul Shakoor was driving the vehicle himself.

The Federal Minister was accompanied by a security guard in the vehicle who was seriously injured in the accident. According to the report, three of the five people in the vehicle that hit Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s vehicle were injured and their condition is out of danger.

After the accident, the IG of Islamabad Police reached the hospital along with a contingent, while Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb and JUI workers also reached the polyclinic in large numbers. On this occasion, emotional scenes were seen outside the hospital.

The funeral prayer of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Ameer JUI FATA Mufti Abdul Shakoor will be offered at Masjid Darul Salam Sector G Six Two near CDA Hospital at 12:30 in the night, while according to the JUI media cell, the funeral prayer of Maulana Abdul Shakoor will be offered. On Sunday at 2 pm, it will be played in the native area Tajbi Khel Lucky Marwat.

Five people in the hit vehicle arrested

Senior officers of the Islamabad Police are present at the spot while the vehicle and occupants have been taken into police custody. According to police sources, two suspects have been transferred to the police station secretariat where they are being interrogated while three suspects are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Mufti Abdul Shakoor died due to head injury.

Dr. Akbar Nasir said that the death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor is a very sad accident. This accident happened while going from Marriott to Secretariat Chowk. At the time of the accident, Mufti was driving alone.

He said that Maulana died due to head injury, the driver of the vehicle which collided with him is arrested. Apparently, this accident occurred due to a head injury, however, further investigations are also being conducted regarding the incident.

According to polyclinic sources, many bones of Maulana were fractured in the accident while blood was flowing from his nose and mouth. There was a severe injury in the head due to which Maulana could not move.

The post-mortem of Mufti Abdul Shakoor was completed at the polyclinic, after which his dead body will be bathed and handed over to the next of kin.

The Prime Minister expressed his regret over the sudden death of the Federal Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Minister of Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor in an accident and expressed sympathy and condolences to the family and all the relatives.

In his statement, the Prime Minister said that Mufti Abdul Shakoor was a practical scholar, an ideological political activist and a good person. He performed his duties as Minister of Religious Affairs with great diligence, sincerity and honesty.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Mufti pays tribute to Abdul Shakur’s religious, national, national and political services, may Allah grant the deceased a high place in Jannat al-Firdus, and grant patience to the bereaved family.

The President of the State expressed his regret on the demise of the Federal Minister

President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed grief over the death of Federal Minister Mufti Abdul Shakur in a traffic accident and paid tribute to his services for inter-faith harmony.

The President of the State expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, prayed for Patience Jameel and also prayed for the forgiveness of Mufti Abdul Shakur.

Apart from this, federal ministers Bilawal Bhutto, Maryam Aurangzeb, Rana Sanaullah and other cabinet members expressed deep sorrow and regret over the death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor and prayed for his forgiveness and patience for his family.

Former President Asif Zardari and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain have expressed grief over the sudden death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor.

JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor is a great loss for the Jamaat, my personal life and the region. Mufti Abdul Shakoor’s party, social, teaching and political services will always be remembered.

He said that Mufti Abdul Shakoor had raised his voice against the unrest in his area in the National Assembly yesterday. The JUI chief said that Mufti Abd al-Shakur Darwish was a human being, his services especially for Hajj will always be remembered.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman prayed that Allah may forgive Mufti Abdul Shakoor and raise his ranks. This grief is not only for his family, but for me and the whole community.

It should be noted that Mufti Abdul Shakoor belonged to Jamiat Ulema Islam and he was elected from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on NA-51 seat.

Funeral prayer in Islamabad

The funeral prayer of Mufti Abdul Shakoor was performed at Islamabad’s Sector G Six Two Madrassa Darul Salam. Which was led by JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion of funeral prayers while a walk-through gate was also temporarily installed at the entrance of the funeral hall.

The life journey of Mufti Abdul Shakoor

Mufti Abdul Shakoor was born on January 1, 1968 in Tajbi Khel village of Lakki Murut and was elected Member of National Assembly from Lakki Murut in 2018. He did his Masters in Philosophy and Islamic Studies while he also taught jurisprudence in various Madrasahs.

Mufti Abdul Shakoor was the Ameer of JUIF FATA and took over the portfolio of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs in April last year.
