Islamabad (PNP) – Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has hailed Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating dialogue between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, describing it as a historic diplomatic milestone that has helped break a deadlock that persisted for nearly five decades. Addressing the National Assembly, the Speaker said that it was a matter of immense pride for Pakistan and its people that the country had contributed meaningfully to bringing both sides to the negotiating table. He also extended felicitation to the House and the entire nation on a landmark achievement in the cause of regional and global peace.
The Speaker stated that Pakistan’s constructive engagement and tireless diplomatic efforts had helped create an atmosphere conducive to dialogue, thereby reducing tensions that had threatened international peace and security. He remarked that Pakistan’s role in supporting diplomacy over confrontation reflected the country’s longstanding commitment to peaceful resolution of disputes.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq paid rich tribute to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his prudent leadership, political foresight, and unwavering commitment to peace. He noted that the Prime Minister’s statesmanship and diplomatic acumen had been instrumental in advancing efforts aimed at fostering understanding between the concerned parties.The Speaker also commended Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar for demonstrating exemplary diplomacy in facilitating the process, while acknowledging the valuable contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s diplomatic corps.
The Speaker further lauded Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for his dedicated efforts and steadfast commitment in support of Pakistan’s peace-oriented diplomatic initiatives. He said that the coordinated efforts of the country’s civil and military leadership had once again demonstrated Pakistan’s ability to act as a responsible and credible stakeholder in international affairs.He also appreciated the role of Federal Minister for Interior Senator Mohsin Naqvi for maintaining effective coordination throughout the process, as well as National Security Adviser General Asim Malik for his strategic guidance. The Speaker acknowledged the services of Foreign Secretary Ms. Amna Baloch and the entire Foreign Office team for their professionalism and commitment.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended his congratulations to the leadership of both Iran and the United States on the reported breakthrough in diplomatic engagement and expressed hope that the ongoing process would pave the way for lasting peace, stability, and mutual understanding.The Speaker thanked friendly countries that supported and encouraged Pakistan’s peace efforts, noting that international cooperation remains essential for resolving complex global challenges.
Welcoming Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam and his delegation to the National Assembly, the Speaker congratulated the Ambassador on the diplomatic progress achieved and appreciated his constructive role in facilitating dialogue and fostering greater understanding between the concerned parties Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq prayed that Almighty Allah may grant Pakistan the wisdom, strength, and success to continue contributing towards the realization and completion of a durable Iran–United States peace agreement, thereby promoting peace, stability, and prosperity for the region and the wider world.
