Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Safraz Bugti has demanded WAPDA and the federal government to provide 8 hours of electricity in the province, while he has also instructed not to take action against solar panels.
According to the details, a delegation of the Landlord Action Committee met with the Chief Minister of Balochistan in which load shedding and other issues were discussed.
The Chief Minister contacted Federal Minister WAPDA and the federal authorities by telephone and demanded 8 hours of electricity supply under the agreement. At the same time, he said in a conversation with the officials of the Action Committee that the future solution to the problems of subsidy on agriculture must be found, they will give money to WAPDA to restore electricity for fifteen and twenty thousand families related to agriculture.
He said that the present provincial government has given 2 billion rupees while two billion more is being paid. Even if all the development budget is given in subsidy, the electrical problems will not be solved because 75 billion rupees are needed to bring 28 thousand tube wells to solarization, however, the federation will be contacted for assistance in this matter and the delegation of the members of the assembly will be on Monday. He will also meet the Prime Minister.
Sarfraz Bugti said that he will go to the federal government as a lawyer for the landowners of Balochistan and if there is no progress, soft loans from private banks will be examined.
Chief Minister Balochistan also directed the customs police and all law enforcement agencies not to stop the transportation of solar panels and to stop the action.
