Karachi: On behalf of Sui Southern Gas, the series of operations against the elements of gas theft continues, a network of gas theft worth crores of rupees was caught from Karachi.
According to SSGC spokesperson, a joint operation was conducted by CRD and CGTO in Gul Hasan Town near Sabzi Mandi. Meanwhile, it was revealed that gas was being supplied to two and a half thousand houses by stealing gas directly from the service line.
The raid team took down the entire network by disconnecting 2500 illegal connections. The gas thieves were stealing 2,400,000 cubic meters of gas annually while the value of the stolen gas was Rs 75,000,000.
According to the spokesman, the fine will be imposed according to the gas load. Gas is national property, theft of gas will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Actions against gas thieves will be further increased.
