Bangladesh out for 172, New Zealand also lost by 5 wickets for 55

Despite getting the home team out early on the first day of the second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand The visiting team was in trouble.

In the match being played in Mirpur, Dhaka, the Bangladesh team was bowled out for 172 runs on a spinners-friendly wicket.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 35 runs, Shahadat Hussain 31, Mehdi Hassan 20, Mahmoodul Hasan Joy 14, Shariful Islam scored 10 runs.

New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner took three wickets each. Ijaz Patel dismissed two and Tim Southee dismissed one.

The New Zealand team found themselves in trouble after dismissing Bangladesh at a low score.

By the end of the day, New Zealand had scored 55 runs for 5 wickets while they needed 117 more runs to close Bangladesh’s deficit.
