New Delhi: In India, life imprisonment law was passed for cheating in government jobs exam.

According to the Indian media, in the state of Uttarakhand, for online or offline copying, cheating or giving out papers, the offender will be punished with life imprisonment and the organizations involved in this work will be punished with a fine of up to 10 crore rupees.

The law was initially introduced as an ordinance. According to this Act, if an examinee is caught cheating in a competitive examination (online or offline) or helping another candidate to cheat or indulging in unfair practices, he/she shall be fined at least Imprisonment for a minimum of three years and a fine of up to five lakh rupees will be imposed.

In case of failure to pay the fine, the examinee will have to undergo another nine months imprisonment. If the offense is committed for the second time, the offender will be punished with imprisonment of at least 10 years and a fine of Rs.10 lakh. In case of non-payment of the fine, he will have to serve another 30 months in prison.

Recruitment of school teachers and junior clerks has been canceled at least nine times since 2014 due to paper leaks in Gujarat. The situation is the same in other Indian states.
