Karachi: Methadar Police killed 2 dacoits during an alleged encounter near MA Jinnah Road Denso Hall while a policeman was also injured in the encounter.
According to the Methadar police, 2 bandits on a motorcycle were looting from the citizens when the policemen on patrol reached the spot and on seeing the bandits started firing.
The police killed 2 robbers in the exchange of retaliatory fire, while during the encounter, policeman Rizwan, 28, was also injured by a bullet on his stomach, who was shifted to Civil Hospital Trauma Center for immediate medical assistance.
The bodies of the slain robbers were taken to Civil Hospital for post-mortem where they were identified as Adnan and Mehboob from whose possession 2 pistols and a motorcycle were recovered.
A copy of the identity card was found in the possession of the deceased dacoit Mehboob, on which his address is written as Lyari Baghdadi, however, the police are conducting further investigations by checking the criminal records of the deceased dacoits.
