India beat Australia by 2 wickets

India defeated Australia by two wickets in the first T20 match of the series after a thrilling encounter.

In the first match of the 5-match series played in Visakhapatnam, the runs piled up.

Batting first, Australia posted a total of 208 runs on the board for the loss of 3 wickets.

On behalf of the Kangaroos, Josh Ingles played a smoky innings of 110 runs while Steve Smith scored 52 runs and Matthew Short scored 13 runs. Tim David scored 19 and Marcus Stoins remained unbeaten with 7 runs.

In pursuit of a mountain-like target, Indian captain Surya Kumar Yadav pulled out of the World Cup.

He played a key role in getting a total of 209 runs for the Indian team thanks to his lightning fast innings of 80 runs off 42 balls.

Along with Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan played an innings of 58 runs off 39 balls. Opener Yashvi Jaiswal scored 21 runs while Ranko Singh remained unbeaten with 22 runs.

The Indian team achieved a target of 209 runs on the last ball of the match for the loss of 8 wickets and took a 0-1 lead in the series.
