More than 10,000 birds were recovered in the action of Punjab Wildlife

Lahore: Punjab Wildlife thwarted an attempt to smuggle endangered birds and recovered 10,000 birds and set them free in the open air on a court order.

According to Punjab Wildlife, a special team from Lahore checked a vehicle coming to Lahore near Shahdara Toll Plaza and found a large number of house sparrows.

Deputy Director Wildlife Lahore Region Tanveer Ahmad Janjua said that around 10 thousand domestic birds were recovered from the possession of two accused. The accused sell these birds to different agents in Lahore and then these birds are released in the name of charity.

According to Tanveer Ahmad Janjua, the accused were summoned and produced in the local court, while all the recovered birds were released in the open air.
It should be noted that 10 suspects who were selling sparrows and other birds in the name of charity in Lahore were arrested yesterday and hundreds of birds were recovered from their custody. The purpose of these actions is to stop the buying and selling of birds in the name of charity.
