Railway passengers deprived of relief despite diesel being cheaper

Passenger train fares of Railways remain unchanged.

Lahore: Despite the reduction in the prices of petroleum products by the government, the railway passengers could not get relief, despite the reduction of 6 rupees 47 paisa per liter of diesel, the fares of railway passenger trains remain unchanged.

Between September 30 and November 15, 2023, the price of diesel per liter decreased by a total of Rs 32 47 paise. Railways did not reduce the fares despite diesel prices falling for the third time in 45 days.

Between August 1 and September 15, the railways had raised a total of 20 percent due to the increase in the prices of petroleum products.
