Lahore: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi rejected the summary of 15 rupees increase in metrobus and speedobus service fare.
A summary of fare increase was presented in the meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority. The Caretaker Chief Minister said to work in a new and unique way to increase the revenue.
In-principle approval was given to run electric buses from Lahore Railway Station to Green Town. With the support of the World Bank, 27 electric buses will be operated in Lahore under the pilot project. It was also decided to run electric buses for Islamabad and Rawalpindi Pakistan Metrobus service.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the construction and repair of Metrobus tracks in Rawalpindi and Lahore, while construction, repair and renovation of Gaddafi Stadium and Shahdara Railway Station have been approved.
The proposal to run diesel hybrid regenerative buses was reviewed in the meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority. The Chief Minister ordered immediate steps for electric bus service.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has approved to meet the shortage of human resources in Punjab Mass Transit Authority. He said that they want to provide quality and safe travel facilities to the people.
Secretary Transport said in the briefing that Punjab Mass Transit Authority has crossed the target of nearly two billion passengers and the authority is operating 6 bus service system. 25,000 students are traveling free daily on the Orange Line Metro Train, Punjab Mass Transit Authority has been awarded the Development Leadership Award by the Government of Pakistan.
The 24th meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority chaired by caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi was attended by Provincial Transport Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Secretary Transport, Secretary Finance and officials of Punjab Mass Transit Authority.
