Karachi: A strange incident of cultivation of expensive drugs in the bungalow of the Defense came to light.
According to Excise officials, a Canadian-educated Pakistani in defense was producing and selling the expensive foreign drug “Mirjuana” in a rented bungalow. was carried out and in these controlled sheds the climate was kept cool and warm to suit the marijuana plants.
According to the officials, besides oxygen cylinders, concentrators were also used to supply the required oxygen along with lighting management through LED lights, while pipes and temperature control units were used to make marijuana cultivation successful, imported seeds, specific varieties. Apart from imported fertilizer, imported soil was also used.
Secretary Excise Sindh Atifur Rehman further informed in the press conference on Monday that the Excise Department has raided the bungalow and seized the drug worth Rs. The beech, manure and soil also come from abroad to make marijuana drug plant, it was being cultivated in a covered shed with modern scientific method in the bungalow.
He expressed fear that marijuana cultivation would be taking place in other such places in the city. He said that on September 24, bottles of foreign liquor and marijuana were recovered from the car of a person named Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan and later he was arrested. On detection, the bungalow was raided and the home-based factory was seized.
Excise officials say that the Canadian man of Pakistani origin has been arrested and remanded from the court for 7 days. In the raid, 35 plants, cabin-like covers, 2 bags of foreign fertilizer, 1 bag of foreign soil, 7 imported seeds were seized. Cans, 3 temperature check devices, a spray machine, a small digital fork were recovered.
The secretary said that since September 1, the Excise Department registered 14 drug cases and arrested 15 people. In 25 days, the department confiscated 1050 kg of heroin, 800 kg of hemp, 25 kg of hashish and 400 liters of foreign liquor. He said that there are reports of new drugs being sold in schools. Parents keep an eye on the suspicious activities of their children.
