Karachi: Police have arrested the accused who broke into the house and killed the woman in Orangi Town area of Shahr Quaid, who is the nephew of the deceased.
According to the SSP, West District Police arrested the accused who killed the woman during the incident in the house. The accused entered the house in Sector 13F on September 14, 2023 and during the incident stabbed the woman to death with a sharp instrument and escaped with the cash.
A case of the incident was registered in Pakistan Bazar police station (Orangi Town) on the complaint of the victim’s daughter.
After registering the case, the police started investigation with the help of CCTV footage and other evidence and managed to trace the accused. SHO Orangi along with SIO Orangi acting on a tip-off arrested the accused who was identified as Dilshad son of Khattab Ali.
15,00,000 (Rs. 15 lakhs) in cash was recovered from the victim’s house on the identification of the accused.
Police said that the accused is the nephew of the deceased, who was aware of the money in the house and took advantage of the fact that the aunt was alone in the house and killed her during the fear of recognition.
The accused also confessed his crime during the investigation. The police arrested the accused under the rules and handed over to the investigating authorities for further action.
According to SHO Arangi Town, the arrested accused is the son of the deceased sister’s husband’s second wife, who had a cash operation in the house.
