Karachi: Women lawyers have withdrawn their petition against the uniform of pink bus ticket checkers.
A hearing was held in front of a bench comprising Justice Yousuf Ali Saeed and Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry on the plea of women lawyers against the uniform of ticket checkers of pink bus.
The lawyer of the petitioner Shazia advocate stated that the Sindh government’s initiation of pink bus service for women is commendable. Pink was surprised to see the uniform of the bus ticket checker as she was wearing a uniform similar to that of female lawyers.
He said that the uniform of pink bus ticket checker is wat shalwar kameez and black coat which is the official uniform of women lawyers. No answer received.
In the petition, Sindh Government, Secretary Transport and Director Pink Bus Service have been requested from the court to order the change of ticket checker’s uniform.
The court remarked that who are you, you do not have a monopoly on this dress, withdraw the application or else a fine will be imposed. On which the applicant withdrew his application.
