The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has expressed its determination to meet the tax collection target of 9,415 billion.
An important meeting regarding FBR and Privatization Division was held under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.
Anwarul Haq Kakar was briefed by FBR regarding tax collection and told that the target was to collect 534 billion rupees in July 2023, but the department collected 538 billion rupees.
It was further said in the briefing that the target of collection was 648 billion rupees in August 2023, against which 669 billion rupees were collected.
According to the FBR data, the domestic tax collection in the year 2023-24 has grown by 38.7% compared to the previous financial year.
In the briefing given to the Prime Minister, it was also said that digital initiatives are being worked on to increase the tax GDP rate.
In the briefing, it was said that the database of FBR is being linked with other institutions to increase the tax net.
