The caretaker government has planned to create an insurance scheme for mountaineer porters of at least Rs 30 lakh.
A special meeting regarding mountaineers and porters was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Tourism Wasi Shah.
The meeting considered setting up a special training center for the training of climbers and their porters.
Wasi Shah expressed regret over the death of porter Muhammad Hassan, who fell down and died during the K-to-head campaign, and directed to prepare an insurance scheme of at least 30 lakh rupees for the porters.
He said that there are vast tourism opportunities in Pakistan, we need to make the world aware of these opportunities.
