Sindh government's decision to teach a separate subject of climate change in universities

Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to introduce a separate subject related to climate change in all public and private universities.

Universities and Environment Minister Ismail Rahu has directed the Secretary Universities and all the Vice Chancellors to start work on a separate subject of climate change.

Environment Minister Ismail Rahu says that Pakistan is one of the most affected countries in the world. At this time, if awareness about climate change is not given, the next generation will face more problems. The international community has also declared climate change as the biggest threat.

The provincial minister says that due to the effects of climate change, Sindh is suffering from high temperature and drought. There is an urgent need to provide basic information to students in universities to avoid the negative effects of climate change.

Ismail Raho said that teaching subjects related to climate change in universities will help improve the quality of human health while solving the problems of marine pollution, industrial waste management and hospital waste discharge.

Ismail Raho says that Sindh is being affected by climate change the most, the resulting disasters will remain a constant threat to Pakistan, climate change is a direct threat to food production in Pakistan. By studying the subject, students will get more employment opportunities.
