Monsoon rains continue in different districts of Balochistan

Monsoon rains are continuing in different districts of Balochistan, Quetta, Sibi and Loralai Dera Ghazi Khan national highways are flooded and the flow of traffic has been suspended due to non-repair of the damaged bridge.

PDMA has issued an alert regarding rains in 19 districts of the province on July 25 and 26.

According to the district administration, due to the ongoing monsoon rains in the province, the national highway connecting Balochistan with Punjab has been suspended at Foot Munro and the Panjara Bridge in Bolan area.

Daily life has been badly affected due to flooding in the local and rainfed rivers of Barkhan, Kohlu, Sherani, Harnai, Bolan, Loralai, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Kech, Turbat, Awaran, Pasni, Ormara and Gwadar.

Due to heavy rains in Sanjavi and Sahabpur, several power lines were tripped due to inundation of low-lying areas, whose restoration work is in progress.

In the suburbs of Basima, the flood rails damaged many houses and crops, in the suburbs of Awaran, the dam has been severely damaged due to flooding.

The weather was pleasant in Quetta Valley with light rain. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon rains will continue till July 26 in 19 districts of the province.

Quetta, Mastung, Pashin, Ziarat, Kohlu, Zhob, Shirani, Musa Khel, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Khuzdar, Sibi, Harnai, Bolan, Barkhan, Loralai, Naseerabad, Dera Bugti, Lasbela, Awaran, Ormara, Gwadar, Pasni, Torbat, Panjgur and Kech are likely to experience wind, strong winds and thundershowers while heavy rain is expected at a few places.
