12 Norwegian ministries have been cyber-attacked, Erik Hoppe, head of the government agency that provides services to ministries, said: “We identified a flaw in a platform and fixed it.”
They said that there was unusual traffic on a platform which led to the detection of a cyber attack.
The matter came to light on July 12. The police are investigating.
Eric Hope said it was too early to say who was behind the attack and what the motive was.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Office, Foreign Affairs, Defense and Law Ministries are safe from cyber attack as they use other IT platforms.
It should be noted that Norway is the largest supplier of gas to Europe and the largest exporter of oil in Western Europe.
