Lahore: A new series of monsoon rains is likely to start in Punjab from July 27.
According to the spokesman PDMA, the current monsoon rains are likely to continue in the province from July 24 to 30, while a new monsoon rain is also likely to start from July 27.

According to the provincial agency dealing with natural disasters, there will be rains in the upper reaches of Sutlej, Ravi, Chenab and Jhelum rivers. Monsoon rains are likely to reduce in intensity by July 26 and the new monsoon rains will not be as intense as before.
According to PDMA, Indian dams have been filled up to 90% due to rains. In view of possible rains, there is a fear that more water will be released towards India. The water level is increasing in the rivers of Punjab. There is a risk of medium to high level of flood in Ravi Jhelum and Chenab.
DGP DMA has issued instructions that the administration should be alert 24 hours to deal with all kinds of situations. Safety of life and property of people is the first priority. PDMA helpline 1129 can be contacted in case of emergency.
