15 accused escaped by breaking the roof of barracks of district judicial lock-up in Qamber and Shahdad Kot.
Jail sources say that the escaped suspects include drug dealers and theft prisoners.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Toheedul Rahman says that the area has been cordoned off to arrest the prisoners, the policeman on duty along with the Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) has been arrested for criminal negligence.
The SSP said that legal action is being taken against 7 policemen including the head inspector while teams have been formed to arrest the absconding accused.
