Islamabad: In the case of Tosha Khana criminal proceedings, Chairman PTI’s request to be exempted from attendance was approved and directed to ensure his attendance on Monday.
In District and Sessions Court Islamabad, the case related to the Tosha Khana criminal proceedings against Chairman PTI was heard, in which Chairman PTI’s lawyer Barrister Gohar and Election Commission’s lawyer Amjad Parvez appeared before Judge Humayun Dilawar.
During the hearing, Barrister Gohar filed a request for exemption from the presence of Chairman PTI and said that the court is requested to adjourn the hearing till Monday, which was objected by the lawyer of the Election Commission.
Election Commission lawyer Amjad Pervez said that no concrete reasons were given in the exception request. If the trial is going on, the accused must be present. Supreme Court has summoned Chairman PTI on Monday. On ensuring their attendance, they should be ordered to submit an affidavit and be directed to appear after appearing in the Supreme Court.
District and Sessions Court Judge Humayun Dilawar remarked that there is nothing in the case file except the request for exception? Even today the request is to the extent of exception. You are objecting to the daily hearing. Your request for exemption was always granted, even though the accused did not appear even once.
Later, the court accepted the plea of exemption from the presence of Chairman PTI and directed the Chairman PTI to ensure his appearance in the District and Sessions Court after appearing in the Supreme Court. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till July 24.
