Islamabad: The federal government has increased the cost of electricity by 7 rupees 50 paise per unit.
According to Express News, the basic electricity tariff has been increased from 3 to 7 rupees 50 paise per unit by the federal government. The cabinet has approved the summary of electricity price hike through circulation.
According to sources, the federal government has filed a request for increase in basic price in Nepra.
Nepra will now give a decision after hearing the federal government’s request. After which the federal government will issue a notification for the increase. The price hike is proposed to be implemented from July 1.
